Immediately following completion and mixing of the full-length debut album Dirty Echo Spark, The Maple Trail songsmith Aidan Roberts set about recording a sister work, composing a new set of songs and instrumental pieces that would become Radio Twilight Lost, a mini-album in 7 parts.
From the scattered nostalgia of opening track Cable Car, through a freezing night in the wilderness with Telescope, to the icy dawn of closing number Hassan's Walls, these songs take on a more reflective, solitary theme than their counter-parts on Dirty Echo Spark, revealing a spare and cryptic journey through the night of a Blue Mountains winter...
Recorded alone over several late nights in May and June of 2008, Aidan utilised guitars, voices, woodwinds, keyboards and vintage radio equipment to create a unique folk soundscape for the listener. Radio Twilight Lost is available exclusively online as a digital download from Broken Stone Records and for a limited time only, with an optional deluxe cd package: featuring a full lyric insert and extremely rare hand-made gatefold sleeves, block-printed by Aidan himslef in his home studio...
