Strange Places the first sneak-peek single from the startlingly expansive and catchy sophomore effort.After releasing his debut record On The Surface of Solitude to acclaim, Des has gathered his touring band ‘The Magnetic Heads ' into the studio to record an immediate follow-up record.

“Far more collaborative than the first record” quips Des,“I wrote these songs while rehearsing and touring OSOS, and the context of the rehearsal room environment greatly influenced the overall sound.” You cannot mistake it. Strange Places , the lead single from Des' forthcoming LP, is without question a band effort.

The steadfast presence of ‘ The Magnetic Heads ', comprised of brother bassist Will Miller, drummer Christopher Rudge (also of Dolly Rocker Movement , Flying Foxes ) and guitarist Evan Lock, pianist Robbie Moore, and new feminine face on keyboards Lucy Kaldor, permeate the sound of the record.   Des also drew upon the community of artists who were milling about BJB studios during the recording. With cameos from Ned Cooke (Dappled Cities) on Strange Places , the record is littered with local indie-star appearances of the likes of Aidan Roberts (Belles Will Ring , The Maple Trail), Alistair Wright (Cloud Control) and again mixed by long-time studio companion Simon Berkfinger (Philadelphia Grand Jury ).
